Travel Programs

The Travel Committee of the AAMC plans exciting trips that feature a wide range of destinations, activities, and educational opportunities—and the camaraderie of traveling with other alumnae.

2014 Tours

Tour and tea ceremony at Hakone Estate and Gardens
Saturday, April 26, 2014
11:00 am to 3:00 pm (meet at 10:45)

On this half-day excursion exclusively for Mills alumnae and their guests, Hakone Board of Trustees President Connie Young Yu ’63 will take the group on a garden tour and a visit to the onsite art exhibition she co-curated: Year of the Horse. Following a no-host lunch at Zen Café, attendees will enjoy a tea ceremony and kimono-wearing demonstration.

Normandy: The 70th anniversary of D-Day
April 22–30, 2014

Honor the courageous World War II soldiers who fought to liberate Europe. From your base in scenic Honfleur, a historian will guide your visit to historic landing beaches and you’ll walk through history at the American Military Cemetery, the Caen Memorial and museum, and Sainte Mère Église, one of the first towns liberated on D-Day. Other attractions include majestic Mont-Saint-Michel and Monet’s home and studio in Giverny.

Croatia’s Adriatic Coast
June 9–20, 2014

Croatia’s historic cities, pristine parkland, and sun-drenched coastline provide a rich landscape with a vibrant cultural heritage. Explore Zagreb, Croatia’s ancient capital; the charming seaside towns of Trogir and Split; the island of Hvar; and the lush forests and crystal blue lakes of Plitvice Lakes National Park. Conclude your journey in Dubrovnik, where a spectrum of architectural styles coexist within the medieval city wall.

National Parks and Lodges of the Old West
July 26–August 4, 2014
